48V and plug-in systems

A mild-hybrid Q8 may use a 48-volt electrical system with a lithium-ion battery and belt alternator starter. A weak 12V supply, 48V message or communication event should be tested within that architecture, not reduced to one battery replacement. Q8 TFSI e adds a plug-in charge inlet, high-voltage battery, electric motor and additional thermal controls while retaining a combustion engine. The workshop will confirm which low-voltage, charging, thermal or high-voltage work is accepted before booking.

For Q8 e-tron, start again with the exact battery-electric model. Tyres, conventional brakes, suspension, alignment, cabin comfort and some low-voltage concerns may still be relevant. Battery pack, isolation, charging and power-electronics work is never implied by this page.

Body systems need mechanical context

Frameless doors rely on correct window indexing, regulator movement, seal contact and body alignment.
